Hello, Andrew! I haven't commented before but I'm an avid reader of your daily links. I simply had to comment on the "Dot" research, though - Georgetown University Medical Center is, in its own words, "The largest, most prominent Catholic medical center in the country, Georgetown University Medical Center’s mission is carried out with a dedication to the Catholic Jesuit principles of public service (“women and men in service to others”) and cura personalis, or “care of the whole person." I would take with a hefty pinch of salt any research produced by an organisation opposed to contraceptives whose findings are that contraceptives are unnecessary. Given the praise they shower on this particular (named) app, I also wonder where their funding comes from.
