My technology is slowly failing me.

The Daily Link Poster is an app. It runs on Google App Engine, a software platform which has had an upgrade or two since I last updated the tool, and the last couple of times I tried to get it working on the latest iteration of the dev kit I failed.

I'm sure I could, if I had a couple of days to play with it, but with a small child around the place, this isn't possible right now. My free time happens in erratic 20 minute chunks, and I simply can't get enough focus together to work my way towards a solution in that time.

Which makes it a pain to discover that there's a bug, and I can't debug it. I _think_ the bug is actually at the DW end (so if any of you can investigate DW support requests, it's #39536), particularly as it started on the 14th, the same day that DW was having connectivity issues. But I can't be completely sure.

Anyway, I (and anyone else doing automated posts to DW from the autoposter) currently have to manually copy the contents into the DW post page. Which is a pain in the bum. And I have no timescale for fixing it, because I just don't know the next time I'll have three hours free in a chunk. Summer 2020, maybe?

Since I have an (in)vested (literally, as in: bought a Pinboard.it account just to use your linkposter!) interest in the outcome I've bookmarked the Support request to see how things pan out (though as you know, my problems with it pre-date the outage by quite a bit).

Thanks.

I'd removed my identities after my last go-around from your app so I could start fresh but now that I'm trying to verify my DW identity on this page: https://dailylinkposter.appspot.com/#/site/new/Dreamwidth I'm getting the error: "DNS host lookup failed for URL: http://www.realip.info/api/p/realip.php" which is what I guess you're using to verify IPs.

So I went to isitdownrightnow.com which says, "Not just you. The server is not responding" which I screencapped, but you probably believe me. So I'll at least have to wait for IP checking to resume, then I can do as I said in my reply email and try it in Fx official Safe Mode and IE11 (the two most stock browsing experiences I have, just to rule out any browser issues).

I know the feeling of 20 minute chunks.

OMG, she has hair now! The last time I saw her she had very little hair because she was all brand-new. She's lovely...so happy for you!

Sounds about right, Lisa still writes about Ms3 & Mr6, but often some weeks after events, and only when she gets a decent run at it (fortunately, the two of them can play for significant periods of time without adult intervention, either together or independently, these days ... blissful :) ). I gave up ages ago :)

Eee! She's adorable! I'm in love with the way her whole face lights up when she smiles at you or Jane. <3

I want to say "oh, I love links round up, can I help with the code now you don't have so much time?" but sadly I know I realistically won't find time for it. Can google app engine do email, if so might post-to-email work around the API interface entirely?
