Date: 2018-09-28 03:08 pm (UTC)Against the clusterfuck they made of building the damn thing - absolutely.
But the tram itself is heavily used, very popular, and every time they increase the service it gets more use. It's ahead of its business plan by a significant margin.
I'm looking forward to it being built out to Newhaven, and then the success of that being used to springboard future extensions.

But it did lead me to: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/news/article/2450/tram_to_newhaven_public_consultation
And then I went up to http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/news
And it was the second item there.

Date: 2018-09-28 07:05 pm (UTC)I've fancied Repatriating? Demigrating? My Dad's side has been in since the 1st (2nd?) wave of Scots-Irish migrations to the US in the late 1700s.
I can't trace directly to Scotland, only N. Ireland, I know my roots are Scottish...
Long story short, I think about repatriating with the Clown in Chief over here...
Went to the Scotland Immigration page and they're like 'are you eligible' and like 5 or 6 scenarios to choose - one of which was:
SETTLING AND BECOMING A BRITISH CITIZEN
But I am pretty pro SNP, and support separation, so that doesn't really leave me an option, huh? I mean, of course the government can't SAY "NOT being a Brit" but... it felt a bit off-putting.
Not sure why I'm saying this, just found it interesting. And probably not something you've seen since you live there already and I'm guessing don't look at migration pages often LOL.

Date: 2018-09-28 09:01 pm (UTC)Having a Scottish husband (and Scott and Cockburn blood myself- okay, so I know the former were a bunch of dodgy border reivers, but.... :o) a Scottish passport from an independent Scotland is my only hope of retaining links with the EU given how I fouled up over possible Belgian citizenship.
