How much do I despair of the world (by percentage)

After I posted the original analysis, a couple of people asked for "FFS by month, as a percentage of all tags".

Some more calculation later, here it is:


Clearly the world _is_ getting worse. Or I'm swearing more. One of those might be causal with the other ;-)

The original data is about 10MB, so if anyone wants to slice and dice it themselves, they're welcome to it if they drop me an email.

I don't think it's you at all- things are undoubtedly getting worse.

Belonging to a social minority begins to become frightening again. :o(

So Peak FFS occurred just before/just after the beginning of the year, and seems to have dropped off some since then (though still IS much higher than in 2016 and before). The drop-off is more surprising since it seems you average roughly (pure guess) 1-3 FFS a week, and I haven't seen that budging much if any, while in yesteryears yes, it definitely was more of a rarity, minus any given spikes now and then.

Also, I can't see the acronym FFS without saying it in my head as, "Oh, for fuck's sake". The "Oh" has to be in there or it's like I'm not saying it right (or even saying it at all).

I think I have noticed more Doom than before, but I might be more alert to it because Doom.

I've definitely been using it more recently. 60 times in total, about half of that in the last two months.

In fact, looking at the "related tags" on the right of that link, which are sized by frequency, the two largest are UK and Europe.
