WTF? :(

I thought we had human rights (for at least the next six months) to stop this kind of inconsistent application of rights :(

Possibly it's to do with them having been stripped of British citizenship. I'd guess we don't really have any legal standing in the case.

Oh, wait, now I'm terminally confused. The article makes it sound like they *might* have been stripped of their citizenship. I don't understand how that's in doubt.

(And I mean, I think that's ALSO a human rights violation, for this and other reasons, but I'm aware that the government disagrees :( )

But, if they're not British and not in British custody, why do we have any say at all what happens to them?

The concern, I think, is that we have evidence and intelligence that would get a conviction in the States which we would normally refuse to provide without an agreement that the prosecutors not ask for death.

Ah, right :( OK, that makes sense. I still think human rights inherently apply to everyone, but I know that most countries still disagree :(

Four year olds who get sick should be punished, says school

Not great outcome: four year olds miss out on fun activity, feel sad and discriminated against and unfairly punished.

Potentially devastating outcome: A child insists on attending school despite what they think is a mild illness because they don't want to miss out on fun day. It turns out the "mild illness" is day 1 of the measles (or similar), and one of their classmates, who is immunocompromised; or one of the 10% of vaccinated people who aren't protected by the vaccine, dies.

While obviously I hope this doesn't happen, I wonder if the grieving parents could sue the hell out of the school if it did, for creating an unsafe school environment by encouraging contagious children to come to school?

Also: wouldn't encouraging contagious children to come to school mean more paid sick leave being taken by sick teachers, and more relief teachers, thus increasing the schools costs?

Likewise. Sadly my ineptitude with other human beings is (statistically improbably) outclassed by my physical ineptitude.
