Date: 2017-11-12 01:23 pm (UTC)That 'salt grinders are bullshit' thing is very odd and annoying to me (not the article as a whole, which is interesting and seems knowledgeable, just that part).
Saying about salt grinders 'All you’re doing is making your salt smaller than it was before.' is like saying about kettles 'all you're doing is making the water hotter'. Whether salt is in large crystals or finer ground has an effect on the food (you can test this easily yourself) and most people with opinions tend to prefer large for cooking and fine ground when table seasoning.
A salt grinder isn't some chi-chi affectation, it can literally just mean you preferred buying a salt grinder once rather than two types of salt on the reg.
