I have a Braun electric toothbrush. It is awesome, and has been a massive help in keeping my teeth problems to a minimum.

It's rechargable (with a non-contact recharger too, which is pretty cool) - but after two years the battery is no long holding its charge for more than a day. So I figured I'd look up instructions for how to replace the battery. I've taken apart computers plenty of times, how hard can it be?

So I found them, and it all seemed pretty easy. Until I hit the bit where I'd need to desolder bits of the various internal connections, and then resolder them again.

Oh well, new toothbrush for me.

The way (expensive!) electric toothbrushes a built to be disposed of after a couple if years annoys the hell out if me. Dalglivk hit the same snag last year and it's why I've stayed with my old AA battery powered one. At least a can recharge/swap the batteries whenever I want.

My dentist kept trying to convince me to get one of those, instead of the ones where you swap in AA batteries, and I kept saying no because I didn't have room; I suddenly feel better about having stuck to this one now that I might have room for the other kind.
