In sickness...
Jun. 11th, 2003 10:21 pmI have a really, really sick sense of humour. in addition to my generaly cute, cuddly, fun loving self, I can find the funny side in almost anything.
Originally Hal and I were both going to see Matrix Reloaded together. Sadly, by the time I'd found a time I was free he'd already booked his tickets. He was going with a friend, a workmate and the workmate's brother.
The workmate's brother was looking forward to it, and was apparently trying to take in as many things as possible, because they are suffering from a particularly nasty syndrome where the blood vessels in the brain lose their elasticity and then collapse, causing death over a period of months. This brother had been given 4 months to live, but seemed (from what Hal was saying) to be trying to put as brave a face on it as possible.
"He shouldn't bother with The Matrix Reloaded," I said.
"Why not, too depressing?" said Hal.
"Nope. It's the first half of a 5 hour film. And the second part isn't out until November. He'll never get to see that, so he'll just be frustrated."
<silence>
Followed by a short burst of giggles.
And I breathed a brief sigh that Hal had shared my sense of humour.

Occasionally I do push things too far, but I'm usually I'm good at not stepping to ofar over the edge. And I'm more usualy told off by other people than the person themselves.
