Wandering to the site for The Matrix Online, I see that it's a MMORPG set in The Matrix and set after the end of Matrix Revolutions.

Which, if you think about it, tells us _something_ about the ending of Matrix Revolutions....

...I noticed that when I popped 'round for a look at the announcment, as well.
Now, what that doesn't tell us is what kind of Matrix it's going to be.

That actually answers the most basic question, clearly the Matrix will still exist after the last film, which pleases me no end. It also implies some level of human/AI conflict, which I find interesting. The oddest thing is that it doesn't sound like much will change after the 3rd movie. One guess would be that the humans and AIs negotiate a truce where off-line conflict (attacking Zion or physical AIs) is forbidden.
