(Yes, I'm treating LJ like Twitter. I think that might be kinda fun. I may even get a special icon.)

Do they have 140 characters between them?

Is the Firefly userpic a Christina Hendricks reference?

Is this not a spoiler? Something you normally complain about others doing to you? Couldn't you have hidden this behind a cut and warned people there were spoilers for both series contained within? We won't be watching Mad Men until its broadcast on Sky tomorrow night but I now know something upsetting happens thanks to you.

Nothing in what he said is a spoiler at all.

There's no one single event in Mad Men that makes it harrowing - it's the entire sum total of the episode and the way things are treated.

And, honestly, I wish someone had warned me that it was going to be an emotional fuckweasle before I watched it.

Assume multiple trigger warnings for just about anything that could be a trigger warning.

That's your preference whether forewarned or not. Your own entry was titled Mad Men so I skipped right past it on my feed as I like to watch things without knowing what's coming, but I know I'll come back to your entry to read later in the week - I've learntbyoyrpatrern, enjoy your reviews but know that I need to skip them till I've watched the show. My point is Andy gets extremely upset about spoilers for stuff he hasn't seen yet and has posted previously chastising people for exactly what he's done with this post - he's normally pretty diligent with warning there's spoilers within - this didn't allow me to choose whether to know or not, it slaps me in the face and tells me Mad Men is going to upset me - it's now dropped down my priorities for viewing and I probably won't watch it when broadcast but wait until I know I can cope with something upsetting. This means my husband has to wait too, I've also had to warn him to stay away from Andys LJ. My arguement is that Andy should have posted this under a heading rather than putting the whole post as the title - of anyone on my friends list Andy is the one who complains the most about people spoiling movies/TV shows that he hasn't had a chance to watch yet. I've seen Game of Thrones so know that whatever is coming in Mad Men is going to be pretty upsetting now. Ergo I was trying to warn Andy that he should practice what he preaches!

In this case I'd forgive him.

My first thought within 10 seconds of finishing this episode was "I need to do a post to fucking warn people about this because holy mother of fuck do I wish I'd been warned."

And that was obviously before I saw Andrew's post - since I posted as soon as I finished the episode and he posted 22 minutes before me.

I think there is a natural reaction to this episode to be like "Holy mother of fuck this shit is just plain fucking wrong and I wish to fuck I had not watched this episode."

I mean two reasonably smart guys who are not that squeamish independently reacted by posting a variation of "WTF?"

Mad Men - but only because I knew what was going to happen on Game Of Thrones, while the stuff on Mad Men came out of nowhere.

I was able to watch GOT all the way through on first sitting. With Mad Men I had to pause it every so often or I would have given up because it was fucking with my emotions/head too much.

Still to try mad men... it's on my "to watch" list. I've started to pester Caron with a "who do you think will die this week" question on GoT (I've read the book, she's watched the TV... I know who will die but usually not when).

I was impressed by GoT, but I'm still shaking after Mad Men.
