Date: 2011-12-10 02:25 pm (UTC)I'm an odd sort of colourblind, mostly affected by reds and greens, but not red-green.
I have extreme difficulty recognising red with my dominant/weak right eye, and only really recognise one tone of red scale with the left eye.
I also easily mistake greens for blues. My right eye is blue dominant, the left relatively normal.
The net effect of this is that the transitions in Metro are insanely difficult for me to process, and give me killer eye stress.
it's a shame really, as I like the concept a lot.
I'm drawn to MacOS X because it has a very muted pallet, lots of grey scales and soft whites. The UI elements tend to be very simple and direct, which totally works for me.
I find Windows, visually, hugely offensive. It's noisy to the extent that I feel physically sick if I use it for more than a few minutes.
mostly I can't be bothered explaining this to people, and just furiously avoid MS wares.
[similarly, I am affected by high-range sonic noise to the extent that I habitually wear drummers earplugs in social situations. This is a recent discovery and has completely changed my ability to cope in the company of more than a few people]
