The tech may have moved on, but the gameplay doesn't seem to. Why do games companies so often think that just by updating the graphics engine and the models they have a new game? EA Sports are by far the worst culprits for this, far worse than Rockstar, but they're all as bad as each other sometimes.

Possibly because what people want is a new game that was just like that awesome game they played last year, only with some new missions, a new (but not too new) plot, and shinier graphics?

They do add new abilities with each iteration of GTA, but when you get down to it most of the players want to steal cars, shoot people and get into running battles with the police. That aint changing :->

(They could make the cars more drivable though - I _loved_ the control system for vehicles in Borderlands.)

Haven't found the time to play Borderlands much beyond the first few missions. Looking forward to vehicles though.

I think vehicles are around level 5. Running skags over is endless fun :->

There were quite a few complaints about the vehicle control system in BL. It was very retro.

you just reminded me of yet another game I wanted to buy pre-broadband....
Borderlands and Arkham are the biggies, I will certainly find many others
loots of shines on the App store, and still a few I haven't downloaded on Steam yet
