The first episode is good fun. Nice mix of FBI stuff, weird science, and fun character interactions.

Sadly, I was fairly sure that _something_ was going to happen to the boyfriend from the start, since you don't get shows where the main character is in a nice, loving relationship. Writers seem to feel that in that state you don't have enough drama. Which I think is ridiculous, and keep meaning to post about.

One of the reasons I love How I Met Your Mother is that Lilly and Marshall have a proper relationship rather than the usual TV fodder where couples have endless pointless conflict because they never communicate about anything.

Yup - I love the way they're portrayed. Sometimes they don't communicate as well as they could do, but that's true of everyone, and at least they aren't generally portrayed in an awful manner.
