I always try to make sure I'm not on the road during the siren, because for all that it's essentially sacred, I find it hard to believe that Israeli drivers will really stop for it. But I've also always wondered what it looks like from the road.
There are, by the way, three sirens - one at 10AM on Holocaust remembrance day, and the other two a week later, at 8PM on the eve of soldier's remembrance day, and 11AM on the day. I think this recording, despite the title, is of the latter, as the Holocaust day siren is only 1 minute long. And yes, pretty much everywhere that there's a Jewish majority, everyone will stop at all of these.
