Not many people left now who were born in the 1800s...

No, really, off to bed now.

One rainy Monday my friend and I were in the City, (San Francisco,) and we were touring an old WWII submarine. The docent was an old Asian guy who served on the boat in WWII. We told him both our dads also served in WWII and we thanked him for his service.

Since we were the only guys there, he took us through the sub himself. (We never turned on the tape tour.) The guy was like a living history book, and I wished my nieces and nephews had been there to hear his experience.

It was really cool!

A few years ago, the oldest known person in the world was a Frenchwoman. It stands out in my memory that as a child, she had met Vincent van Gogh . . . and recalled that he had bad breath.
