They make everything better.

Spent the evening playing BSG board game with a bunch of friends. I've now played it a buttload of times, and I'm still not sure if I like it. I like the idea of it, but it always seems so technical. The fun bit is arguing over who is likely to be a cylon, but I'm always tired when playing it, and not able to hold enough information in my head to work out what the cards that were played must mean. Or, at least, it feels like enough effort that it's work, which is not what I tend to play board games for. I persevere though, because the company is fun, the arguing is fun, and occasionally I feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on tactics before things go horribly wrong again.
Julie is now off to Northern Ireland for Christmas with her family. My parents are driving from Devon to Scotland tomorrow, which hopefully will be ok (despite the 8" of snow that fell over the weekend). And then on Wednesday I go to join them in The Borders for a week. Which will probably be a mixture of relaxing (I may sleep for two days) and stressful (seven days in a house with _anyone_, even people I like a lot is stressful for me). And I still have to wrap the presents that have arrived (about 3/4 of them). I'd better get some sleep...
In any case, have a pile of kittens, courtesy of
