While I won't dispute the Right of a mother to give birth at home, I can't agree that it is the best choice. I am biased through personal, frightening, scary as hell, thank-fuck-we-were-in-a-hospital experience.

Thank goodness Hungary has experienced midwives who are prepared to assist in home births, making them a far safer option for mothers who choose to have them. Arresting and persecuting midwives who assist in home births is absolutely fucking ridiculous asshattery.

That midwife thing is really awful. Do you know if there's a petition or anything? It's the sort of thing I might expect Amnesty to take up. (I Googled and saw there was a Facebook group supporting her, but I'm not on Facebook, and I doubt the Facebook group would actually achieve much anyway.)

Sorry, just seen this. I don't know if there's any petition or anything like that going on. I've not bumped into anything on it since then either.
