I wanna Cobra. Actually, I want a Fer De Lance, or possibly a Mussurana, but, y'know, a Cobra'd be cool.

Coded by [livejournal.com profile] aegidian, randomly I started playing it a few days before a LD Conf where I met [livejournal.com profile] lizw for the first time, they're married.

But yes, rather cool implementation, keep meaning to write it up, but, y'know. If you start playing it, I recommend all the Neolite ship OXPs as a good start, nicely balanced and much better graphics.

Very, very strange coincidence; I downloaded Oolite just last weekend. Haven't tried it yet, though.

I first found it about a year ago, there was some discussion linked to the Bradford media museum opening a section on games about what the best game ever was, someone linked me to an article on Elite and that pretty much sold me completely.

I haven't played for a few weeks now (back to the original Starcraft), but when I'm in the mood, it really is good fun; this machine is below the min spec (just) for Eve, and I coulnd't afford it anyway, and I like being able to fiddle with the backend (some of the ship prices in the shipyard seem very off to me, for example), may even make up my own ship sometime, if I can figure out the graphics side.

According to the graph in the wired article DNS died completely in 1995.

Do you think we should explain that RSS comes over http, as does most of the iPad content?

"A study, led by a team at Glasgow University, showed the frequency of GP visits by patients rose significantly prior to the [incapacity] benefit claim [on mental health grounds] being made."

Next week on "proving the pretty obvious": our intrepid researchers discover that lots of people claiming JSA had lost their job shortly before the claim being made.

I read the previous Geek Feminist post. Dickwolf analysis via Pavlov. Now that's satire.
