Good customer service

My new HTC Desire is waiting for me at home.

It was sent out via DPD - who actually seem to provide a good delivery service.  I knew the delivery was going to arrive today - and this morning I got a text saying that my delivery would be out today between 3:45 and 4:45, and if I wanted to change the delivery day I could text back 1 for tomorrow, 2 for the day after or 3 for Monday.  As it was, Julie was going to be in all day, but having both a one hour slot for delivery and the simple ability to postpone the delivery for a day or three if necessary is great.

I do hope this catches on.

ooh, do post on how you get on with it. It's at the top of list for when I get a new phone next month alongside a Motorola Milestone.
And yeah, why can't everyone give a one hour delivery slot, it's not exactly rocket science

There are all sorts of good delivery services available. the problem is nobody is willing to pay for them. Your mobile phone operator sending out an expensive phone it seems is the exception.

Having just checked, it looks like it's about £17 for next-day delivery.

Parcelforce seem to be about the same, but I'm sure there are others that are significantly cheaper.

I've been living with an HTC Hero for the past 4 months. Apart from the crappy camera, and general poor reception (that could be Orange's fault), I've loved it. I can't believe I didn't used to have the Internet in my pocket whenever I wanted it.

I'd definitely consider another Android when I next upgrade in 4 or so years (I generally replace my phones only when the battery life gets unbearable).

have had the desire for a month or so. Its fantastic. A few UI bits could be improved, but they are minor.

Although let me know if you find any particularly good android applications.......
