Evers since Sandman came out in August and took the top spot for the month for streaming worldwide, but didn't yet get a renewal* I've been wondering what's performed better.
Fortunately, Netflix make a bunch of their data available at
https://top10.netflix.com/ - at the bottom of the page in both Excel and TSV format. I read that into PowerShell, and spat out some totals.
Bear in mind that this is number of hours spent *while the show was in the top 10*. If the show spent all year at #11, never quite breaking in, but raking up a large amount of hours overall, then it won't show up here. And also this data is from July 2021 onwards, so there will definitely be earlier shows that aren't shown, or when they are they'll only be showing because Season 2's release meant a bunch of people watched Season 1 again. (The Witcher is a great example of this - season 1 hit #2 in the charts when season 2 came out last Christmas.) I'd love to have Netflix's full dataset to play with, but alas that's not likely to happen.

*It also hasn't been cancelled. Which leads me to think that there's currently intense bartering in the background over how much Netflix will pay for season 2, versus whether they think they can actually make a TV series that's largely set in Hell and will need an impressive special effects budget for that much. Keeping my fingers crossed - I love Season of Mists, and would be fascinated to see it translated.
