andrewducker: (Teddy of Borg)
I got a Switch for my birthday. It's a nice piece of kit, the setup talked me through things well, and both Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World were fun to play (with Jane and Sophia respectively). I'd rather like to play Breath of The Wild.

What's frustrating is that the digital-version is £60 when I can pick up the physical version for £45. The advantage of the physical version is that I can resell it when I'm done. The advantage of the digital version is that I can't lose it.

As I live with two tiny people whose main purpose in life is losing things, I'd rather have the digital version. But is it worth an extra £15 to avoid the worry of losing the cartridge?

At the moment I'm going to play some Hollow Knight on it, and hope that there's a sale that includes Breath Of The Wild sometime soon!

As an aside, I suspect the reason is that Nintendo aren't going to sell the digital version for less than the RRP, while lots of shops will buy the physical version at wholesale prices and then resell it to you for somewhere between that and the RRP, giving you a discount while still making some profit.
