Awoken at 7am by Noah playing with Uther. Neither 3.8 year old nor an 18 month puppy have any idea how to be quiet. I dozed off again until 8am and then gave up when they invaded my room, with Uther licking my face and Noah jumping up and down on the end of the bed. I guess I should be grateful it wasn't the other way around.

Walked the dogs in a nearby field with Dad. Sadly there were other dogwalkers there, so we couldn't let them off their leads, but they still enjoyed dashing in circles and tying themselves in knots.

Spent a chunk of the afternoon walking on Christchurch beach. It was cold, windy and occasional raindrops would leave dark tracks on the sand, but still well worth it. There's something awe-inspiring about the sea.

Arrived back for lunch and Mike's arrival. Mike's been at a 30th birthday party, which sounded like tremendous fun. He brought many board games with him, so we played some Puerto Rico before dinner, followed by Articulate (great fun, I must pick up a copy and have friends around), and then Vinci.

And now bed. As soon as Meredith gets out the bathroom I can go and brush my teeth, and then collapse.
