It highlights the main reason I'm against it - the spoiler effect, whereby under FPTP people cannot vote for the party they want to because it will mean a worse party will get in. So even if the Awesome party came into existence, who were clearly better than (say) Labour in every way, the majority wouldn't risk voting for them, because it would split the anti-Conservative vote, and let them win.

Question for the Windows Experts

So, Windows is set to download and install updates automatically. Which is fine by me.

Less fine is that it brings Windows out of Suspend to do so. Because it doesn't put it back into Suspend afterwards, which leaves a computer burning power unnecessarily.

Is there any way to say to it "Download updates if you're turned on, otherwise wait until you are next turned on and then download them?"

Yes, I know, I could turn the computer _off_, but as a modern suspended computer uses a ridiculously tiny amount of power, and it wakes up in about two seconds, this seems a bit silly.
