Five more questions
Oct. 28th, 2007 10:47 pmThese from
bugshaw and answered a mere three weeks later...
1. What is your voice like?
Southern English accent, I talk too fast, and according to the flatmate lying on my bed at the moment I sound sarcastic at the best of times. Of course, you've now heard it in person a few times...
2. What do you like to have conversations about?
Oooh, tricky one. It varies a lot. I can happily chat about everything from microprocessor design (although not in depth, as that's not a specialist subject) to philosophy, to what makes Frasier such a great TV show, to the latest gossip about my friends, and so on and so forth. I'm not terribly interested in sport, but other than that most things are happily dissected.
3. How long have you lived in Edinburgh; where were you from before that (if applicable).
I've lived here since September of 2002. I moved here to start a job at Standard Life, which I've now been in for five years. Good Lord. Before that I lived in Stirling, from the time I went to university (1990) onwards. Having had my family move me around a lot as a kid I was loathe to move on from somewhere I was comfortable. Eventually things became uncomfortable and I decided that moving 30 miles down the road would be a good idea. Before that I was a southerner, living in Kent (1983-1990 - high school), Surrey (1979-1983 - junior school), Leicester (1975-1979 - primary school) and Portsmouth (1972 - 1975 - making gurgling noises).
4. Are there good places to buy CDs round here, or should I just go to HMV with their Double Airmiles offer?
I don't buy CDs myself. And if I did it'd be online. But ISTR that you've now found somewhere anyway :->
5. What use is human memory now we have Google?
Remembering what search terms are particularly useful for any given topic.
