Moving

About to unplug this beast and pack it for the move. Virgin are coming to connect the TV/internet this afternoon, so I should be back online by tonight.

Pretty much everything else is packed. To the point where I had to just wake Ed up and ask whether he knew which box he'd hidden the toilet rolls in or if I should just use newspaper...

I recommend my primary moving strategy to anyone - months before you move get all of your "spare" stuff into boxes and stick them into your fantastic brother's spare room. That way you'll have 47 boxes, a piano and a sofa that you _don't_ have to move on your actual moving day, making the whole job much easier. Oh, and because your flat will be rather minimalist you'll find it easier to sell too.

The Lord of Meaningless Distraction Returns!

Thanks to the most excellent help of diotina, 0olong, time_for_tea and thorn11 myseld and eduard_green are now moved in!

Took my bed apart at 9am, took the TV setup apart at 9:30. Van arrived at 10am. Finished moving at midday. Two trips required, due to the ridiculous amount of crap fantastic stuff we have, but still done very quickly.

Now have Internet, Cable TV (including PVR) and phone set back up again. Huzzah! Also have a bed, but clearly that's less important than them.

Now to unpack a few more things, take a bath (Oh God, how I've missed having a bath) and then head to Erin's for her flatwarming.

Tomorrow is cleaning of the old flat - and then I never have to visit that particular vile part of Edinburgh ever again!
