Quoth the Gamgee: "Well,I'm back"
Jan. 7th, 2007 10:15 pmSpent a long day at the Botanics and then at the Royal Scottish Academy, thoroughly enjoying the art of Douglas Gordon with
surliminal. My favourite two pieces were Inverleith House, which was just wonderful to wander around (photos of it can be seen here) and the Taxi Driver reflection, where the "Are you talking to me?" scene is projected onto walls at both ends of a room, with a 2-3 second lag between them so that he seems to be having a conversation with himself.
Then back to hers, where I helped clear the food from her fridge *burp*, watched two episodes of Family Guy, and took the christmas tree down to the street bins, before carrying her suitcase down and sticking it in the taxi so she could head back to Southampton (where there will no doubt be much wailing, gnashing of teeth, etc.) Nice to see her again, and to know that we can still get on despite three years of *deleted for security reasons*
All of which feels rather like the capstone on the Christmas holidays. I've been in work the past week, but it's been very quiet (about 8 people in out of a 60-person team) and I've been on Production Support, a job which drives me slowly insane with boredom. Thankfully I should be off of this soon and back to more interesting stuff. And life should be quieter for a while too - in fact I have almost nothing planned in for the next week!
Except, of course, that I now have time to get flat-selling underway, so I guess that will take soon be taking up my life...
