Spent a long day at the Botanics and then at the Royal Scottish Academy, thoroughly enjoying the art of Douglas Gordon with [livejournal.com profile] surliminal. My favourite two pieces were Inverleith House, which was just wonderful to wander around (photos of it can be seen here) and the Taxi Driver reflection, where the "Are you talking to me?" scene is projected onto walls at both ends of a room, with a 2-3 second lag between them so that he seems to be having a conversation with himself.

Then back to hers, where I helped clear the food from her fridge *burp*, watched two episodes of Family Guy, and took the christmas tree down to the street bins, before carrying her suitcase down and sticking it in the taxi so she could head back to Southampton (where there will no doubt be much wailing, gnashing of teeth, etc.) Nice to see her again, and to know that we can still get on despite three years of *deleted for security reasons*

All of which feels rather like the capstone on the Christmas holidays. I've been in work the past week, but it's been very quiet (about 8 people in out of a 60-person team) and I've been on Production Support, a job which drives me slowly insane with boredom. Thankfully I should be off of this soon and back to more interesting stuff. And life should be quieter for a while too - in fact I have almost nothing planned in for the next week!

Except, of course, that I now have time to get flat-selling underway, so I guess that will take soon be taking up my life...

Production Support is great! I suppose though as it's my proper job I get more exposure than yourself - you're only supporting one application which you elped develop whilst I theoretically support nearly everythign else!!!

ach well, flat-*buying* is supposed to be 'a nightmare', but I am finding that all it really needs is a bit of patience. I can only hope that you find the the selling end the same.

hmm well, not hard to manage for least hassle. Price your flat conservatively and someone should offer the asking price. For the new place, just have a budget and *stick to it*. Controversial, I know...

of course if you are going for max gain instead, you will just have to put up with stress, hassle and more time...

Pricing conservatively at offers over, should possibly encourage people to think it's a bargain and bid over. Pricing copnservatively at FP would be silly though. I'd try option 1 then go to FP in a few weeks if nothing doing.. but you do realise that tho Jan is the best time to buy , it's the worst time to sell ? (like, duh.) Also the range of flats on sale will be lower as people with good stuff will keep it till the market wakes up - but you're prob not too bothered about that end of it.
