Aaaaand, a quick apology
Feb. 13th, 2006 09:11 pmAccording to recent research published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, I've only a 50-50 chance of ascertaining the tone of any e-mail message. The study also shows that people think they've correctly interpreted the tone of e-mails they receive 90 percent of the time.
Or at least, so it says here.
So I'd like to apologise:
Firstly, to all the people whose emails, posts, comments, etc. that I've misinterpreted, misunderstood and generally reacted to in an inept way. I ought to have more faith in you, and when it looks like you're acting badly I ought to at least check to make sure you're being serious before I assume that you're being a dick.
Secondly, to all those people who've failed to understand me. I ought to be more aware of the medium in which I wrote, be clearer and leave less room for misunderstanding.
I hope you can forgive me.
