Americans - want to balance the budget yourself?  Do it here.

(I managed to do it in one stroke.  But I don't think they're actually likely to remove all spending on the military.  Nor do I really think it's a good idea to do so.

GeoURL

There's a site called GeoURL that allows you to put a marker in your website telling it where you are.  You can then search for physically nearby sites.  Getting that code into a LJ was far too hard for me to manage, but there's now a post here that tells you exactly how to do it.

Wiki fun

I was asked by Joe to set up a Wiki for him.  I'd been anticipating this taking a long time, what with unix not being my strong point.

Took me 5 minutes, including downloading the install and reading the instructions.  Works rather well too.

It's UseMod if anyone wants a recommendation for a nice simple Wiki.

Other coding fun

I've spent the last few days involved in more VBA fun.  I've gone from my first VB DLL a couple of weeks ago to working out how to create events and then intercept them from inside Excel.  Remarkably easy once I found the right bit of help documentation.  VB is actually a lot of fun, if very limited compared to some languages I've worked with (the lack of OOP is getting to me a bit).

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the C# book I have on order...
