Thoughts of oldness
May. 19th, 2002 12:18 amI was chatting to Emma today, who I lived with a couple of years after graduating. That year was terrible, largely due to me moving in with her and Hal and Saint, and thn Hal and her breaking up the next day (literally) and both of them refusing to be the one that moved out. You can imagine the jolly japes that ensued. Oh, how we laughed.
Anyway, later that year, Hal went to Kenya to visit Philippa, an old friend of his from his Uni time, came back, assured everyone (including Emma) that it was all platonic, and then (a few weeks later) told us that he'd found out that Phil was pregnant with his child.
Obviously, this only increased the happiness quotient in the house.
Anyway, about 2 weeks ago Alex, the fruit of Hal and Phil's loins (now happily married, and with a second sprog) was 5. Which means this eventful year was 5 years ago.
5 years, man! I feel like that guy in Grosse Point Blanke. 5 years! Where the hell did they go?
Suddenly, I feel surprisingly old.
