Point of view
Jan. 8th, 2002 11:05 pmSince I started gaming in Bridge of Allan, I've been catching the train North out of Stirling on Tuesdays. This is brand new for me, as I've only ever caught the train southwards to Glasgow/Edinburgh (Yes, I know, ten years in Stirling without ever catching a train North even one stop is a bit odd).
Anyway, I've done this three times so far, and always had a life back from Scott (who's dead nice and generous with his time). This week, however, he was stuck through in Glasgow, so myself and Gordon came back together on the train. I stepped off the train after one stop and had absolutely no idea where I was. The station layout was totally unfamilliar to me and I could have been almost anywhere.
It was only when I turned myself through 360 degrees (literally) that I realised I was standing on the platform I wait on every single morning for the train to Glasgow, but I'd never, ever seen it from the angle I initially did (stepping onto it rather than off of it.
Which just goes to show, you can see something a thousand times and then one day catch it from an unusual angle and realise you hardly know it at all.
