The U.S. Military, like the Roman branch of the Christian Church (and any large Organization) sometimes makes Serious Mistakes -- and then compounds the harm by trying to cover them , which is (IMHO) an even more serious mistake. *sigh*

Sorry, I love the Onion, but that's true. Not just in the Church but in any context. It's why political parties promise to cut crime or waste or other endemic problems and not eliminate them. Because, despite its huge desirability, it's simply not practical.
