Advertising offline isn't about immediate sales--when I ran my ad campaigns in the old job, I'd run ads for ages before the response rate came up to what I needed, ads are mostly about brand awareness and putting your name forward.
But somehow, online ads are only valuable if someone clicks to buy immediately. This is palpable bollocks, and this sort of churnalism is a good reason to stop buying newspapers. Oh, wait, I did that already.
