Yes, I had fun playing through that last night.

Though it might have been more interesting if there was a better reason for it to be a 15-puzzle: I don't think I found anything in the whole game which required me to have more than two pieces correctly arranged with respect to each other at any given time, so the 15-puzzle interface was just an unwieldy way of asking "can I please have this piece and that piece adjacent in some particular direction" and didn't add all that much over, say, dragging the pieces around to achieve the same thing.

If there'd been some sort of long-distance element such as throwing, so that you had to arrange lots of pieces at the same time in the right way for a single throw to arc across all of them and land in the right spot, that might have justified the UI a little more. Ideally there'd have been some level which critically depended on the parity constraint of the 15-puzzle, though that probably is asking too much :-)

I agree completely and thought the same thing while playing. I think the only advantage of the interface they provide is that it limits the keys used to UDLRS, which is aesthetically pleasing. But there is no reason not to include a mouse drag option for those who do not want to be aesthetically pleased. ;)
