Living in the future

I noted this for later reading a couple of weeks back after everyone linked to it.  I'm very glad I finally got to it.  I really want the version of this tech from 5 years in the future...

The projection part of it is a bit clunky and wouldn't work well in bright light conditions. If it was working in a little 'flip down' HUD or beamed/wired directly to my retina...? _Then_ it would be sci-fi cool.

Well, exactly. That's why I said I wanted the version from 5 years away.

Ummmm.... Brain implant in 10 years? Slightly optimistic. And kind of scary.

Oh,I don't expect to have a brain implant in ten years - the technology is in use, but is still extremely early.

I'm looking forward to it though :->
