I love both Spring and Autumn because the temperature tends to be better than Winter and Summer, and they are both so pretty. I went with Spring simply because nowadays we get more Spring than Autumn!

Autumn, because the bloody summer is over and you've got 9 months before a bunch of arseholes start telling you you should be happy because going outside makes you sneeze, your risk of skin cancer's gone up and the office is boiling.

Winter's nice, especially if you get interesting weather, spring's ok but it starts to get hot and idiots start looking forward to the bloody summer.

Ah, your comment about sneezing reminds me that my friends who have asthma loathe summer, because they have an increased chance of not being able to leave the house. :(

I have photic sneeze reflex. Moving into strong natural light from a darker environment, especially flourescent lights, makes me sneeze. A lot.

Most pronounced when leaving my old office in the summer (I worked in the tourist industry in Torbay), or when walking into plazas in Italian cities (or LA). Makes for a nice holiday when everyone else is admiring the architecture and you're having a sneezing fit.

Fortunately it's over quickly, but it's still not nice.

Right now my favorite season is summer, because I don't actually get a summer anymore. What Scotland thinks is summer is really kind of a combination of late spring/late autumn, depending on whether it's raining or not. My 'summer' therefore tends to be 'five days in Washington DC in July, and a blissfully warm week in California in January'. :)

My answer to this is biased by the fact I got up at 6 this morning to get what should have been a short transect survey out of the way nice and early. Instead, I got on site at 7.30 and truged through knee-deep snow lying over knee-deep marshland, leading to falling over every third step and dying of exhaustion. I think I managed 600m in an hour and it was VERY VERY COLD.

Fieldwork in snow is no fun - a few days ago I had to fill 24 bottles from 20cm below the surface of streams with average temperatures of 0.5C. :(
