I clicked no, then before I hit submit I remembered, it's been a few years.

I googled it and still have no fucking idea what this is about. I probably just made a complete fool of myself.

wait, you people are all wrong surely, doesn't zipping it bring the button closer to the button hole and make it easier to button? And you're also less likely to forget the zip bit and walk around with your flies down?

Yes and yes. But for non-lardarses, it's of no real difference.

otoh, fastening first makes the zip easier to close. :>

re forgetting, when i started wearing a belt again, i found i'd occasionally forget to zip, because i was used to doing 2 things rather than 3.

I googled it and don't know what this is about either. Help, anyone?

Having googled I am now geeky enough to understand, if not to have guessed the inspiration in the first place!

This is actually complicated for me; if I'm putting on jeans, I definitely fasten first, but if I'm putting on dress pants, I'm just as likely to zip, because the fastenings on my dress pants are sometimes complicated, and involve hooks and latches and the what-not.

However, I'm absolutely geeky enough not only to know the inspiration, but to know the right answer.

Fasten then zip probably works better for pants that are (possibly too) tight-fitting. But I think I generally do the reverse.

But there's no option for "I have no idea what I do; I haven't put on a pair of trousers in the best part of a decade"! Humph. *feels left out*

(FWIW, some skirts have zip/button fastenings and I button first then zip.)

Pah. Youngsters with no real education.

Do you sleep with your beard over the sheet, or under?

I not only get the reference, I'm pretty sure I have answered this question in an LJ poll once or twice before.
