New layout

Having had the old layout for an age, I finally got around to changing it. Another simple one, with a reasonable amount of contrast. I tried it without the column on the right, and it was too wide on the screen - my eyes wouldn't naturally flick back to the left-hand edge without losing their place.

This one is "Flexible Squares". I quite like it.

The border around icons is very nice. Personally, I prefer icons on the right because that focuses the eye on the text for me, but each to their own!

I like knowing who wrote the entry when I read it - and I kept finding my eyes flicking over to the right as I started each entry.

But I found a neat compromise - dump the userpics entirely, but put the name on the left. See what you think:

But there are no user icons! Not even in comments! That's crazy talk.

I turned them off, to see what LJ life was like without them.

The theme has that controllable.
