Some of the complains I've seen about Indy 4 appear to be from people who had maybe not paid attention to the previous three films and just seen Indy punching people and not noticed the Ark of the Covenant and its mystic wooomwooomwWOOOMWOOOMWwoom woom after Indy stows away on the outside of a submarine, the sinister powers in the Temple of Doom or the Mystic Cup of Dan Brown in the Last Crusade.

Sure there were plot holes. But they drove a DUKW through them so all was forgiven.
