Anyone want a cat?

Things didn't work out with lizzie_and_ari and Denver. She was fine with it. The cat they already had - not so much. So after five days of Cedric refusing to come into the flat, Denver's back at mine.

So - would anyone like to provide a home for a housecat? She's very placid and friendly with people, loves falling asleep against people, and is good with pretty much everybody except other cats. She doesn't like the outdoors, and she's perfectly happy to live in upstairs flats.

Ed took Jack with him.

This leaves me with Denver.

I do not spend enough time in to be a decent pet owner. Denver won't die, but nor will she get as much attention as a cat needs, especially an indoor cat. So if I can find someone who will give her more love and attention then I'd rather that she had a happy home.

I'd absolutely love to have her, but I'm not sure how Eric and Gwendolen would react - is *she* bad with other cats, or was it Cedric who didn't like her?

She gets very defensive and scared around other cats. And was sadly trained by Jack to hiss first, ask questions later. So probably not suitable for being around other cats.

How old is Denver?

(I fear the "does not play well with other cats" could be a problem for us, as we already have two elderly ladies who don't get on terribly well; adding a third to the flat would probably result in Politics.)

She's 9-ish (she was originally a rescue cat, so her age isn't entirely certain). And thanks, but yes, there would be Politics, and it wouldn't be fun.

Suddenly realized -- dunno if you know John Hein (WINOLJ), but he's had the bad luck that three of his four cats have died in the past 18 months (old age -- the youngest of 'em was 15), and his one remaining cat (who is very gregarious and friendly-to-other-cats) is lonely. John's actively looking for friendly cats to add to the household. He's in Edinburgh (Leith Walk area) -- ping me for more details.

Cheers for the offer - going to go with daisyflip though, I think - she's going to just have Denver, and I think it's probably better to not keep trying Denver with other cats when it's been nothing but trouble in the past.

How is she with dogs?

Just a thought. My mother quite likes cats, and has a basset hound who is settling down now he's older. She's around a lot. If Denver is happy with dogs, I could ask her.

Miss P, unfortunately has made her opinion of interlopers felt.

Actually, she has - and she was fine. I'd rather place her somewhere in Edinburgh if I can though, rather than moving her the length of the country.
