How about if one of them "Will you ever forgive your husband for running up his gambling debts?" or "Have you ever inappropriately touched a member of the opposite sex at work?"

It's interesting, but I wonder what they're using to gauge whether or not an answer is true. If they're doing it on research, that's not always going to predict falsehood properly, and if they're doing it based on galvanic skin response (somehow, as I saw no equipment), then they're obviously full of crap.

My guess is that the contestants have to answer an extremely long and detailed response sheet that gives the show the ammo they need. If they contradict what was given as the assumed truth in the response sheet, boom, they're lying.

Of course, it may be more interesting to look at this show as an expression of how to manipulate the truth, rather than tell it. Perception rules all.

It's called Nothing but the Truth in this country presented by Jerry Springer and it's on Sky One. They use lie detectors to guage the responses, and the questions are actually derived and written by family and friends rather than the gameshow people. There's been just as many jaw dropping moments in the UK version.
