I'm currently transferring files from Ed's old hard drive to the Terastation. I'm getting around 18megabits/second throughput. Is this a reasonable amount to be getting? Or is there a problem?

Strangely, the online stuff I find when I google 802.11g throughput tell me that 18mbps is about normal, after all the overheads are taken out.

I did find the source of the problem with the file copying though - my USB hub was fucked, meaning anything being copied anywhere - like to your USB drive - was incredibly slow!

a ha! glad you got it sorted. I had a couple of USB hubs die on me. I doubled my budget (to £10) after that...
