Spoke to my mother this evening, and am now much more relaxed. My aunt goes to the Hammersmith tomorrow for her tests, so we won't know details before then - but the important thing is that Mum seems to be holding up well, and we were able to chat amiably (even occasionally jovially) after catching up on medical matters.

I'm now doing yet another paring down of my bookshelves. This started over 6 years ago, and I'm still going through and throwing out books I can no longer justify. Some are easy - I'm clearly never going to re-read Neverness, much though I enjoyed it when I first read it, others much harder - do I keep all my Pratchett hardbacks for sentimental value? So indecision is the order of the day, although I'm still hoping to get rid of a couple more shelves of books by the end of the evening.

The rest of that series that Neverness started was arse, although some of Neverness was actually pretty good. Some.
