I think it's funny the couple of answers that said they'd stopp worrying about what they ate. You'd still get fat/unhealthy - Andy only said "immortal unless killed" - not in perfect health or indeed, youth.

Though he may have implied it, it's pretty ambiguous.

For some reason, people don't percieve time very correctly.

I mean when its a matter of cooking tea or a pizza, we can pretty much get the timing right, you can percieve 10 - 20 mins quite easily.
A day is also easy to grasp. A week too, you can visualise you follwing week, what you will do and so on.

But a year, this is where our perception falls apart.

People consider a year to be along time.

It is only 52 weeks.

You might say yes I know that.

Well 10 years is 520 weeks.

When you say 520 weeks that is a very short time indeed in comparrison to 10 years.

Well lets follow this line of thought.

I am 30, so 1560 weeks old approximatly, I hope that I have another 1560 weeks that would be nice. Well in 6 days I will have 1559 weeks left.

It kind of puts your life in to an entirly new perspective when you are able to percieve your life expectancy.

I mean how important is it , if you live 1560 weeks or 1040 weeks (ten years less). Its just 560 weeks...

So the moral of this story is how did you spend your last week. Were you using it to do something nice with friends, or did you piss it away, worrying about nothing, or stressing your self about work, or wasting it in front of the telly.

You should do something everyday for your self and others, time goes alot faster than you think.

Actually time seems to go by differently depending on the state of your mind. So if time is so precious to you and you want it to go by slower I suggest you get someone to torture you all the time, because then time will go by really slowly.

If you're busy living life to the full then it's going to whizz by.

I guess if you're a decrepid old codger then living like that forver would suck ass. I think you should factor in a returning to a state of slimness and youth to your idea. Alternatively we could kill off all the old and overweight people along with the idiots.

I thought it was funny that the answers to question 1 were Pension related as Pensions would be among the first thing to go. No way would any company or government agree to pay out an age based sum until death to an immortal populace.

Hopefully another of the things to go would be money, which would sort that out.

Longevity would make space colonisation more practical, so that's a problem and a solution in one go, not to mention that ancillary benefits to the longevity research would probably help with terraforming etc
