It's one thing to moan about Blunkett being back - quite another when you realise he's back as Minster for the Department of Work and Pensions - where a friend of mine works at quite a high level (and a few friends work at low level too).

Tell me about it. I feel like I'm being punished and I don't even work there. :-(

Well hopefully he'll kick some arses - last time I had to deal with the DWP, they were lying profusely about what we'd told them and changing the figures we supplied to fit with their predictions. Hmph. Shows how much they care about the Scottish end of things...I hope it wasn't any of your friends being the git!

er, not me, but I'm interested in knowing what bit you were dealing with?

I'm not sure - I can't remember the exact situation - I think we'd supplied council tax data to somebody, and he was just moaning about it - I can't remember what his problem was, but he kept kicking up a stink, and said something to us about them fixing the figures we supplied...

Let's face it, the only reason why sheeple have a problem with Blunkett is because he's blind.

Maybe SOME people don't like him for those reasons mainly because he reminds them of those weaknesses in themselves, but trust me that sheeple don't even reason it out that far.

Actually he's just the front man as all these politicians are. If the corporations want ID cards we are getting them either with Labour or Conservative in power. Sheeple don't understand this and thus the machine keeps turning over.

I said if that's what they want. To avoid transparency they often will play the two main parties off each other.

In any case, there are more corportations in the EU than the US, and at the higher levels there are no distinctions between the two anyway.

The only time I ever got asked for ID in europe was twice when I was stopped by the police in my car. In the US I get asked for ID all the time. There may not be a formal ID card, but the photo car licence cards are used in much the same way. Plus of course people need to have biometric passports now.

Corporations involved in pushing the ID card bill

The government knows that ID cards and biometrics don't stop terrorism so what motivation is driving them. I know you 'd love to believe that the UK government is suffering from the same incompetence that affected the US military on Sept 11th 2001, but sadly for all of us the truth is it benefits those shaping the world from unelected, unaccountable seats of power.
