Too much but never enough

Going here will show you the current location of my hoover.

Which is nice - it's more detail than I get for most things sent to me.

But it's not enough!

What I want is a GPS receiver on the van to be constantly reporting it's current location, linked to multimap so I can watch my hoover make its way up the M1!

(it would be cool - actually what would be good would be to combine that with RFID tags so the entire journey can be tracked in real time)

Yup. With a little webcam on top so I can check to see if it's being looked after, and if it's being rained on.

Seems like the motor would be shot by the time it got to you if it had to make its way up the M1. It would be a real proof of power though: all that gravel, bits of asfault, and cigarette buttage.

Aforesaid GPS receiver could then be used, post delivery, to allow the hoover to pinpoint it's exact location. All you then need do is upload an accurate map of the layout of your flat and it could do the hoovering while you are out. By out, I of course mean, monitoring it's performance in realtime via a palm.
