Having installed Firefox you may find some extensions useful. Firefox is deliberately stripped down and these extensions add in functionality you might find useful.

Tab Mix is the best way to set up Tabbed Browsing.
Adblock allows you to block adverts. I no longer see many adverts at all, as I've now blocked the majority of ad servers.
FlashBlock blocks all Flash content unless you click on it to display it. Between that and AdBlock reading the web actually becomes a pleasant experience again.
If you use del.icio.us then you'll want this extension which will allow you to post any link you click on.
If you use multiple PCs and want to keep the same bookmarks on both then I recommend Bookmarks Synchroniser which will upload/download your bookmarks from FTP server of your choice.

Grr, there are way too many tab browsing extensions. I'm still using the granddaddy Tabbrowser Extensions because it's too annoying to sort through a crapload of lighter weight extensions to get what I want, even though the right mix of newer ones is probably better. I've already got about 20 extensions installed as it is, which is crazy.

I felt the same way until I encountered TabMix, which is what the TBE people recommend you install. The only problem I've encountered with TabMix was with the del.icio.us javascript bookmark, and that was solved by switchign to the delicious extension!

Hmmm...got Adblock running, and it stuffed up Flashblock! After fiddling for a while with no effect, it has been removed again.

You missed Session Saver. Session saving goodness without having to install any ghastly "tab" extensions.
