Date: 2004-02-16 05:15 am (UTC)There was certainly no discussion of the possibility that people could live 'good lives' (for some value thereof) without practicing some form of major religion. I hated the fact that morality was so tied in with religion. 'Behave in this manner because we're suppose as Christians', really doesn't answer any questions if you've already decided you don't believe, but I digress.
My schools may have been a little odd though. In primary seven, I was informed by my teacher that I didn't need to be confirmed as a Catholic, but if I decided not to I would lose all my friends and have to go to a different secondary school. Yay for indoctrination and threats!
