Attack of the Hoaxes

My friend Dave (who incidentally just got a new job - nice one Dave) sent me this email this morning, while we were discussing AotC:

Cheers. Take it you've heard about the cinema that showed it in Glasgow last night at 0:00? They put the second reel on first accidentally exposing the star wars fanatics to plot they really didn't want to see.. Very soon after this cataclysmic mistake they called the police as a riot was ensuing.

By strange coincidence I knew someone who went to see Clones at the midnight showing last night, who was able to deny that anything even remotely like this happened. Added to the fact that no newspapers mentioned it, I think I can happily discount it as my first AotC hoax!

However, it did bring to mind this possible scene:

The adverts finish. The Certification appears on the screen. We open on Luke and Darth standing face to face in mid-confrontation.

Vader: Luke, I am your father!
Luke: Noooo!!!!!!

Audience: What the fuck???

I told Dave this one. I can back it up with three different accounts of the incident on theforce.net. There are *several* cinemas in Glasgow don'tcha know?

Which is why I checked on several sites, searched newsgroups for people posting about it, etc. I can't find one single thing about it online, including on theforce.net

Never mind. It was at the bottom of the third theforce.net page I checked.

The story is on Page 3 of the Daily Record today as well. Or possibly The Sun. Its next to a pair of breasts anyway.

I was just starting to believe it, but if it's in the Daily Record, then I definitely don't.

Well its not really a little side panel thing. Its an article with quotes and pictures. And if you read theforce.net it does mention that the press showed up.
