Jesus! They found Saddam.

To be honest I wasn't expecting that to happen.

Not that it really changes anything.

But this makes G.W. Bush a Good Guy, right?

Nah, it makes him lucky.

And somewhat in the position of Winston Churchill post-WWII. I think.

My reaction

Was sort of that too. It doesn't change much, it's just very photogenic.

With the American media, they'll also change focus in a week or two.

I'm equally surprised and also disappointed. This will lend credence to Bush's attack.

True, but it will boost his publicity and not finding Hussein would have been great ammunition for the Democrats, especially since almost everyone in the US seems to have forgotten who Osama Bin Laden is (except for the Weekly World News, which just had an article about how Bin Laden and Hussein are gay lovers who celebrated Christmas together and had adopted a baby shaved ape).

bizzarely enough, I actually saw that article, too.

A SHAVED baby ape-boy. Not a normal ape-boy, but a SHAVED one. Go figure.

I agree.

Actually I am glad they found him. 'Cause if Bush needed to distract us from the fact that we haven't found HIM, god KNOWS who he'd declare war on next.

oh please

Are you honestly telling me, that if they found WMD (let's say Saddam tells where they are in exchange for a life sentence), you wouldn't dismiss it with "Not that this really changes anything"?

Me too ... I guess I overestimated how much the WMD was a make-or-break issue for you.

I'm especially concerned not because I think they lied about WMD, but because the US military fucked up and let them get smuggled out of the country.

Yeah, that must be worrying for those die-hard believers in WMDs... but don't worry: they were lying about WMD.
